2017 M5PBA Youth Challenge

Dunn and Moyer Lead the Way in Carman

Minnedosa Bowl youth bowlers including a 1-2 sister act dominated at the 2017 M5PBA Youth Challenge at the Carman 5 Pin Bowl on December 2nd. Suade Moyer of Minnedosa and Matthew Dunn, a resident of Brandon that bowls out of the Minnedosa Bowl youth program, led the way in the scratch competition, averaging 200 and 225 respectively. Both bowlers took home $500 post-secondary scholarships to go with their gold medals

Rounding out the All-Star team advancing to the C5PBA Youth Challenge National finals in Ottawa are Payton Moyer, Curtis Madden, and Faith Clarke, all of Minnedosa, and Maddox Wilson of Carman.  Payton and Curtis were awarded $300 scholarships, with Faith and Maddox earning $200 scholarships to further their future education.

Coaches Alan Tarn of Minnedosa and Sylvia Swaenepoel of Carberry were named team coaches at the end of evening awards ceremony, and will be responsible for preparing the team for the trip to the Nation's Capital in March.
Top Pins Over Average awards in the boys competition went to Carberry's Ben Kollie, 293 over his average for the day, including a personal best and tournament high 296 in game 6. 
​The girls Top Pins Over Average bowler was Westman's Lexi Green, finishing +156. Both Ben and Lexi were awarded $250 scholarships for their performances.
Rounding out the POA All-Star Team were Nick Eu and Jaden Wicks for the boys, while Jackie Collie and Teagan Chambers finished 2-3 in the girls division.​​​
​​Team competition was led by Central Manitoba 2 Mixed team, consisting of Curtis Madden, Katie Haywood, Nick Eu, Mackayla Reimer and Maddox Wilson and Coached by Nyssa Deroche. The team led from start to finish, averaging 932 over the 6 game event and grabbing the gold medal. Silver medallists were Central Manitoba 3, coached by Al Lightfoot, while the Bronze went to Westman 1 led by their coach Sherry Reimer.

M5PBA 2 Legit to Split Fundraiser - Postponed

The M5PBA has tentatively moved the 2020 Open Provincial Championships in Minnedosa from Easter Weekend to May Long Weekend.

As so much remains unknown at this time, more information about this event, as well as C5PBA National Championship plans, will be communicated in the upcoming weeks.

Regarding the Spring Cash Draw, should the Open be cancelled altogether, we plan to make the draws at our AGM. Regardless, we encourage no sales of tickets after the Easter weekend date.
